An accident that happened on Friday night, March 25, within the Abiola way close to Iyana Mortuary in Abeokuta, has taken the lives of three persons.
It was gathered that the accident happened when the motorcycle rider attempted to overtake the truck and its lost control.
According to Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps ( TRACE), confirmed the incident to newsmen on Saturday in Abeokuta.
He said according to an eyewitness, the motorcycle rider, in an attempt to overtake the trailer, lost control and got crushed.
He said that the motorcycle rider and his two passengers were struck by the truck and died on the spot while the truck driver zoomed off.
Mr. Akinbiyi also said that the incident occurred around 8 pm on Friday, adding that, the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the State hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta.
Mr. Akinbiyi also advised motorists to always drive carefully and ensure to obey traffic rules and regulations.
