The internet is buzzing with the viral trend “I AM A CHOSEN” after members of Lazarus Mouka’s The Lord’s Chosen Church began sharing extraordinary testimonies that many believe are too dramatic to be real. These unusual accounts, which seem more suited for an action film than a church service, have sparked widespread discussion, with some suggesting they may be scripted.
One testimony described a man allegedly being freed from captivity by a lion that carried him like an airplane and even wished him “bye bye” after showing him the exit. Another testimony shared how a cultist’s attempt to split a man’s head with a cutlass was foiled when the weapon made a “Ko” sound, failing to penetrate his skull. A third man claimed that kidnappers shot him multiple times with an AK-47, but the bullets didn’t enter his body. Frustrated, they attempted to lead him into the forest, but when he declared, “I am a Chosen,” the bullets still had no effect, and they let him go unharmed.
These accounts have led to a growing belief among some followers that merely uttering “I am a Chosen” bestows supernatural protection, with people jokingly comparing it to gaining instant superpowers.
The phenomenon is reminiscent of a viral testimony from 2018, where a woman claimed that applying the church’s “I am a Chosen” sticker to her fuel tank allowed her to avoid the effects of fuel subsidy, keeping her tank full for years. Another woman said she pasted the same sticker on her gas cylinder and never had to refill it.
As these testimonies spread, social media has taken up the “I Am a Chosen Challenge,” with people humorously sharing their own exaggerated stories, adding to the spectacle. While some find the stories amusing, others are questioning the authenticity of these testimonies, fueling a debate about faith, miracles, and the power of belief.
