After launching group video calls in June, Telegram has again declared openly the latest features and improvements on its messaging app, revealing that the group video calls can now have up to 1,000 viewers.
According to the company’s blog post on July 30, 2021, revealed that the maximum number of people that are eligible to participate and broadcast to the video call remains at 30, but stated that you can have quite the audience for “anything from online lectures to live rap battles.”
The company also announced that its video messages will come through at a higher resolution, stating that you can now tap them for a larger view of the clip.
The company said when recording your video messages, the audio from your device will now keep playing as you do so, adding that, “so you can now sing along to your favorite songs or reply without pausing your podcast.” You can now zoom in when recording with your phone’s rear camera as well.
Other additional features include screen sharing for one-on-one video calls (with audio from the device of whoever’s broadcasting), also, is the option to auto-delete messages after a month – the longest option was previously a week and more precise drawing.
Also, Telegram has spruced up the user experience with animations for the passcode screen and when you send messages on Android but iOS users already got these message animations in a previous update.
