A political pressure group, Team FAM, set up to create political awareness among the indigenes and non-indigenes residing in Oshimili South with the passion to play participatory politics, particularly in Oshimili South local government area and Delta State in general, drum support for Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta State governor-elect.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the convener, Ogbueshi Afam Mkpaya, acknowledged that, as a pro-PDP political pressure group, they believe in the person of Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the governor-elect as they are ready to toe the line of his MORE agenda to leverage on the gains of the Stronger Delta vision of the outgoing Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, who place Delta on the global map of accelerated development with the strong human capital flow.
The group stated that its members from Ward 9 Westend, hereby align with the ward exco, in passing a vote of confidence on the member representing Oshimili South State Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Shadrach Ekene Rapu, for not only attracting numerous state and constituency projects to his people as a member of DTHA’s Finance and Appropriation committee in his four (4) year term but also mobilizing various political groups at his expense, during the just concluded 2023 general elections.
The group also stated that such trait of patriotism and unalloyed loyalty to the PDP as displayed by Hon Shadrach Ekene Rapu, a one-time State Treasurer of the PDP should serve as a reference point to some disgruntled members of the ward (9), who attempted to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of a magnanimous and high ranking legislator.
Part of the statement read “We wholeheartedly commend the first-ever Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly of Oshimili South extraction, Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya, for the proactive roles he played in galvanizing massive support for the party PDP, during the just concluded general elections.”
“We heartily congratulate an illustrious daughter of Ahaba, Bridget Anyafulu, Esq, for emerging victorious as member-elect representing Oshimili South State Constituency I’m the incoming State Assembly. We have no doubts that with her rich pedigree in advocacy, her term in office will usher not only effective representation but also more people-oriented dividends of democracy.”
“We appeal to the youths of Oshimili South to wake up from the slumber of political docility and brace up to be counted as we chart a new course in the political development of our area. We should note that the onus lies on us to change the narratives of seeing that education is a key to development and not a scam, that we as leaders of tomorrow should be well primed towards filling the gap of leadership that will inevitably be imminent when our elders and leaders vacate the space.”
“Long live FAM, live the PDP, long live Oshimili South and long live Delta State.”
