A big fire broke out on Otedola Bridge in Lagos after a tanker carrying gas exploded. The fire was so intense that people nearby had to run for safety.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that two people lost their lives in the explosion. The fire also destroyed 12 vehicles, 8 tricycles, and a building. Three people were injured and were quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Emergency workers rushed to the scene to put out the fire and control the situation. Officials blocked the road to stop more accidents and told drivers to use other routes.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the fire also spread to a church, a house, and a mechanic workshop near the bridge.
Firefighters are still working to completely put out the fire. Officials also warned drivers not to try passing through the area, as it is very dangerous.
