Sowore tell agitators to focus on Nigeria Revolution now instead of battling for break up

Omoyele Sowore, on Friday, March 25, called on those agitating for Nigeria to break up to make a rethink and embrace the revolution now.

He made this call while speaking at the People’s Alternative Political Party summit titled, “New Nigeria is Possible.”

According to him, many Nigerians joined the call for break up out of frustration and disillusionment arising from myriads of problems bedeviling the country.

He asked the agitators not to be carried away by the illusion that their problems would be solved the moment they break up the country.

He said, “Before the breakup, let’s have the revolution first so that those people who put us in this condition will not have the joy of going anywhere for comfort.

He also said, “How will you break up the hearts of those people who are destroying Nigeria, the same people who will now go back to their various new nation-states?”

Sowore went further to suggest that, it will be better to break up the hearts of the oppressive leaders rather than break up the country. According to him, it’s good to break up those who destroyed the country, those who inflicted untold hardship on Nigerians. He added.

Sowore maintained that the same mistake made by the British for not seeking the consent of the people would be made if such an agenda pushes through.

Sowore also indicates that the only workable option was to allow a revolution to take place, he also warned various ethnic groups to be circumspect in their agitation for self-determination

He went further to criticize the immortalization of past leaders for naming public roads, schools, and buildings after them, stating that they are the architects of the nation’s woes.

He said, “As of today, those individual has turned Nigeria into a superpower without power.” Adding that, they have made this country headquarters of the poorest people in the world, stating that, one of them was recently awarded an appointment at the World Trade Organization.

He went further to say that, he was saddened while driving on the roads named after former leaders such as Late Sani Abacha, Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo among others.
