The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Ogunlana Yemisi, for allegedly inflicting serious injury on her husband, Idowu Adebowale, 31, using a sharp object. The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of October 15, following a minor disagreement between the couple.
According to a statement released on Monday by the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, Adebowale reported the incident to the police, stating that his wife attacked him around 4:30 am. He showed officers a deep cut on his genital area, which he claimed was caused by his wife’s actions. Following Adebowale’s report, detectives visited the scene and apprehended Yemisi for questioning. Despite denying the allegations, the severity of the injuries prompted the police to provide Adebowale with a medical form, urging him to seek immediate hospital care.
Odutola further stated that the case is being treated as a serious matter of domestic violence, with Yemisi currently in police custody. “The case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation,” Odutola said. She added, “This situation will receive a thorough investigation, as it appears to stem from uncontrolled anger, leading to a case of domestic violence.” The police have assured that appropriate legal actions will follow after the completion of investigations.
