Senate reveals new plans to reform Land transportation

The Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Senate Committee on Land Transportation, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, has expressed the need to reform land transportation in the country.

Senator Tofowomo stated this while speaking at the launching of the Travellers Accident Insurance Scheme organized by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria in Abuja on Friday, April 30, 2021.

According to him while seeking for the reformation stated that all hands must be put together to reform the land transportation system stating that the Federal Government and States have spent billions of naira in the building of airports and seaports yet no proper attention has been given to the land transportation except the building of motor parks in the country.

Meanwhile, the RITREAN National President, Alhaji Musa Tankobi also stated that the organization is mindful of reforming the transportation industry in the country while calling on the Federal Government to establish the Bank of Transportation and prioritize the budget for federal roads for private investors to come in.
