Nigerian Senate President Ahmad Lawan has been honored with a High Chief title of Nwannedinamba 1 (our number one Brother in Diaspora) and as a member of Ezumezu Circle of Igbere Ebiri in Abia state.
Lawan received the honour on Sunday, December 27, in Igbere, where he attended the 10th memorial anniversary of the father of the Senate chief whip, Orji Uzor Kalu.
The Senate president who shared photos on his Twitter handle made a strong case for Nigerians to be united. According to him, more can be achieved when people are united.
“Nigeria is designed by the Grace of God to be a nation of many people of different orientation, different sentiments but we must be a people with a common purpose and common destiny and this is what we are trying to achieve.”
He thanked the traditional rulers and the entire Igbere community for honouring him with the title.
According to him, with his cap signifying the title conferred on him, he can stand anywhere, in any part of Nigeria proudly and say he is from Igbere community.
His followers were spotted in the comment section congratulating him.
