A 21-years-old marriage has been dissolved by the Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan over infidelity and irreconcilable issues.
It was gathered that the Court dissolved the marriage between a businesswoman, Adewale Pius, and her husband, Emmanuel on Monday in Ibadan.
The man accused his wife of sleeping with their church member, according to him, his mother caught her.
The man tells the court, “My wife left home because my mother saw her in bed with a church member.
The woman while responding to the allegations, tendered some receipts and alleged that her husband refuses to pay their children’s school fees.
While explaining, she said, her husband has refused to take charge and be responsible for his family’s upkeep.
The woman said that her husband had turned her into a punching bag stating that, her husband is always fond of spreading lies against her.
In her words, she said, “Emmanuel turned me into a punching bag. He is fond of spreading lies about me, that he caught me in bed with another man.
“My husband refused to pay the children’s school fees. Because of that, my children stopped going to school.
However, Chief Ademola Odunade, the President of the Court, granted the divorce in the interest of peace.
The President of the Court also granted the custody of the children to Adewumi and ordered Emmanuel to pay N12, 000 as monthly upkeep.
