An accident that occurred on Friday night in Ughelli, has claimed the lives of six people suspected to be internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo boys.
It was gathered that the victims who were allegedly under the influence of some substances reportedly rammed their newly-bought Lexus GX 450 into a stationary truck which left the car damaged beyond repairs.
The incident happened around 8:00 pm along the Agbarho-Ughelli section of the East-West Road near Ekuigbo junction in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
A source told newsmen that the incident happened over a celebration of a newly-bought Lexus GX 450.
According to the source who explained that one of the victims had just bought the Lexus car about 5:00 pm and they were returning from a joint where they had gone to celebrate the arrival of the vehicle until the celebration turns sour.
The source also disclosed that the victims were allegedly under the influence of some substances believed to be hard drugs.
The source further disclosed that the newly bought vehicle rammed into a stationary truck along the expressway leaving six of them dead on the spot.
The incident, however, has not been confirmed by the Delta State Police Command at the time of filing this report.
