Ritual Killer on the Run After Police Discover Dead Bodies in Shrine

Umuojor Village, Enugu State – A shocking rescue mission led by the Enugu State Police Command in the early hours of Tuesday has saved the life of a 13-year-old girl, who was reportedly kidnapped for ritual purposes by a well-known native doctor in the Ishiagu community, Ezeagu Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out at about 3:15 a.m. in collaboration with members of the Neighbourhood Watch and concerned locals, uncovered a horrifying scene inside an uncompleted building used as a shrine.

According to the state police spokesperson, Superintendent Daniel Ndukwe, three suspects were arrested at the scene. They are:

  • Uche Kingsley Agumba, 33
  • Ilo Nweze Onyedikachi, 36
  • Ejike Odinwankpa, 38

However, the alleged mastermind and prime suspect, High Chief Levi Onyeka Obu, also known as “Ezeani” and “E-Dey-Play-E-Dey-Show”, managed to escape during the raid and is currently on the run.

Horrific Discovery in the Shrine

The police reported finding two decomposing bodies, one male and one female, buried in a concrete-sealed pit within the shrine. Preliminary investigations revealed the victims were recently killed and buried as part of ritual practices.

In an earlier report by SaharaReporters, villagers described discovering more hidden soakaway pits filled with dead bodies, including pregnant women and children, in the compound linked to the fleeing native doctor. A viral video circulating online shows community members expressing shock and heartbreak over the gruesome discoveries.

Government Demolishes Ritual Site

In response to the discovery, the Enugu State Government has demolished the shrine and other buildings associated with the criminal acts, citing a breach of state laws and a commitment to public safety.

Police Vow to Capture Prime Suspect

The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, visited the scene and praised the swift joint efforts that led to the girl’s rescue. He also directed tactical squads and intelligence units to intensify the search for the fugitive native doctor and any other accomplices still at large.

“The rescued girl was moments away from meeting the same fate as the other victims. Thanks to the bravery and quick action of our officers and the community, her life was saved,” said SP Ndukwe.

The police are urging members of the public to provide any useful information that could help in locating the fugitive.

Public Reaction

Residents of Ishiagu and neighboring villages remain in shock, calling for justice and improved security measures. Many are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that someone widely respected as a traditional healer could be behind such horrific acts.

What’s Next?

Investigations are ongoing. The three arrested suspects will face charges related to kidnapping, murder, and participation in ritual killings. Meanwhile, the hunt continues for “Ezeani,” as police promise not to rest until justice is served.
