Mbaiwen, Benue State – A heartbreaking incident occurred in Mbaiwen, Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, as a young girl lost her life after being struck by lightning during rainfall.
The tragic event took place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the home of Celina Agbatse. The girl had gone to fetch water when it started raining. To avoid getting wet, she took shelter in front of the house, waiting for the rain to stop.
Sadly, a sudden and powerful lightning bolt struck her. People nearby quickly rushed her to the General Hospital in Adikpo, hoping to save her. However, doctors confirmed that she had already passed away by the time she arrived.
Her body has now been placed in the hospital’s mortuary. The community is in shock and mourning over the sudden loss.
