Prince Philip laid to rest after 50-minute service (Photos)

Prince Philip, the husband to British Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest on Saturday in the Royal Vault at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, West London after a 50-minute service.

The funeral for Prince Philip, the late husband of British Queen Elizabeth II began with a procession. A Land Rover carrying his coffin, follow on foot by his children, other members of the royal family, and royal aides.

It was gathered that the coffin was covered with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Personal Standard. On top were his sword, Naval cap, and a wreath of flowers.

The coffin, move by a Bearer Party founded by the Queen’s Company 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards.

The widowed Queen also followed her husband coffin and later sat alone at Quire of St George’s Chapel for the funeral
