Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State – The Nigeria Police Force has officially cleared the management of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG) of any involvement in an alleged certificate racketeering case.
The Rector of the school, Professor Achuenu, announced that the police investigation confirmed what the school had been saying all along — that the leadership of the Polytechnic was not involved in any illegal activities concerning certificates.
“There is no institutional involvement, and no Registrar is involved in the matter,” Prof. Achuenu said in a statement sent to Global Egberi Media International.
For weeks, there had been rumors and public concerns that some certificates from the school might have been obtained illegally. However, the police report showed that no top officials or departments — including the office of the Registrar — were connected to the scandal.
According to the investigation, the issue may have come from outside individuals pretending to act on behalf of the school, rather than from the school itself.
Members of the academic community and other stakeholders praised both the school’s management and the police for handling the matter with honesty and transparency. Many also called on the public to always wait for verified facts instead of spreading rumors, especially on sensitive topics like education.
DSPG also reassured the public that it has strong systems in place for giving out results and certificates. These systems involve exam officers, the academic board, and the school registry — all working together to make sure only the right students get certificates.
In the end, the investigation helped clear up confusion, and many say this is a reminder of why truth, patience, and accountability are important when judging public institutions.
