Some concerned villagers have allegedly alerted the Police over the movement of not less than seven kidnappers bearing AK47 rifles, matchets añd sticks in Obomkpa, Ezi, and Onicha-Olona bushes, both in Aniocha North local government area of Delta State.
It was gathered that these kidnappers who used to terrorize the areas had returned to unleash terror on innocent citizens going about their daily businesses.
According to security observers, the already demoralized Police and unassisted vigilante groups might not be able to muster the courage to face these marauding criminals who have laid siege on Aniocha North Communities.
Aniocha North had overtime been declared ‘kidnappers’ den’, however, the police in collaboration with the vigilante groups had been putting up a good fight.
Being Christmas season, opinion leaders within the local government are insisting the Aniocha North Chairman Hon. Chuks Oseme must do well to support the security agencies this time, to have something standing as a testimonial for him as he winds down on his leadership of the council
Efforts made to hear from the Chairman of the council, to share some security reports with regards to his local government being surrounded by armed bearing kidnappers, was proved abortive as he didn’t pick his calls.
Also, the DPO in charge of Olona Police Division, when contacted to confirm this heightened fear in his jurisdictions was equally proved abortive.
