Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen gave a special birthday shoutout to Tony Elumelu’s twin sons during a football match.
Osimhen scored the first goal for his team, Galatasaray, in a 2-1 win over Goztepe on Saturday. The game was played at RAMS Park, and Osimhen’s goal came from a penalty kick in the 10th minute. It was his 10th goal in the Turkish league since joining Galatasaray last year.
After scoring, Osimhen ran to the sideline and picked up a special jersey. The shirt had the message: “Happy Birthday, Tony and Toby,” written on it. He held it up for everyone to see, dedicating his goal to the twin boys.
Galatasaray’s official social media page later shared the moment but joked that they didn’t know who the twins were. Tony Elumelu, a famous Nigerian businessman, explained the story in a tweet. He said Osimhen had promised to celebrate his sons’ 10th birthday by dedicating a goal to them—and he kept his promise!
With this win, Galatasaray stays at the top of the Turkish league, leading by 11 points over their closest rival, Fenerbahce.
Osimhen’s thoughtful gesture made the day extra special for the Elumelu family!
