The traditional ruler of Onicha Olona community, His Royal Highness, Obi Christopher Diji has reiterated his community continuous supports to the administration of the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
The monarch disclosed this in his palace in a courtesy visit by some traditional chiefs who paid homage to him as part of activities lined up for the Ine festival.
He stated that governor Okowa is a man that keeps to his promise, stressing that he understands governance as it affected the masses.
Addressing newsmen shortly, the Onu Obi (Obi’s Speaker )of Onicha Olona, Chief Sunday Ukwanwanne emphasized that it was a new dawn for the people since the community was celebrating the Ine festival for the first time after 30 years.
He also noted that his Highness (the Obi), was the first Obi to receive the staff of office from the government.
The Onu Obi also said that the Obi- in – council was poised to revamp the cultural heritage of the community for the benefits of their children.
He, therefore, urged the youths to embrace peace adding that for the community to move forward and attract government attention there must be peace among the people.
Chief Ukwanwanne thanked governor Okowa for the recognition accorded to his highness, Obi Christopher Diji by graciously approving the presentation of the staff of office to him stating that it’s a new dawn for Onicha Olona people.
