People living in Ondo State were shocked and scared after three headless bodies were found floating in a river. The scary discovery happened on Sunday in the Odigbo Local Government Area, between Ore and Odigbo communities.
Residents who saw the bodies quickly called the police. Many people in the area are now worried and afraid, thinking the victims may have been used for rituals. The way the bodies were placed in the river made it look suspicious.
Police officers from the Ore Division came to the river to investigate. The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Alayande, said that no one has come to say they know the victims.
“I can confirm that three bodies were found in the river in Odigbo,” he said. “Our detective went to the scene after we got the report. We’ve also asked community leaders and others to help identify the bodies. So far, no one knows who they are.”
Mr Alayande also said that the police believed the bodies were not from Ondo State. They think the victims may have been killed somewhere else and dumped in the river, which then carried them to Odigbo.
A youth leader in the area, Mr. Shileola, said he was shocked when he heard the news. “I rushed to the scene to see if I could help identify them, but there was nothing to show who they were,” he said. He also said that nobody has been reported missing in the community, which makes the situation even more mysterious.
The police are asking anyone with helpful information to come forward. Meanwhile, the community remains in fear as people try to understand who the victims were and what happened.
