Daniel Omimi Esquire, a former Political Adviser during the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his strategic and balanced approach to development across Delta State’s three senatorial districts.
Speaking on Oborevwori’s achievements since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Omimi commended the governor’s efforts in steering the state toward growth and progress over the past 15 months.
Highlighting key ongoing projects, Omimi pointed to the massive Julius Berger flyover and cloverleaf developments at the DSC roundabout and PTI junction, as well as the comprehensive stormwater drainage projects being executed by the Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency (WUEDA). He also mentioned the recently approved upgrade of the Warri Township Stadium, emphasizing the governor’s focus on revitalizing the oil city of Warri.
In Delta Central, Omimi noted the significant strides made, including the ongoing construction of the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST) Orerokpe campus and vital road infrastructure across the district’s local governments. He called these projects evidence of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to uplifting the region in just over a year of leadership.
Turning to Delta North, Omimi highlighted infrastructure developments like the stormwater drainage at the Owa axis in Ika Northeast, the completed 5km Okpanam-Ibusa bypass, and the ongoing Ewulu-Nsheagu road project. These initiatives, he said, underscore the governor’s promise to be a leader for all, a commitment made during his inauguration address in May 2023.
Omimi further praised the governor’s focus on human capital development, noting the empowerment programs and various initiatives that have positively impacted citizens across the state.
Addressing the recent Edo State Governorship election, in which the APC’s Senator Monday Okpebholo was declared the winner, Omimi indicated that the PDP was pursuing legal avenues to reclaim what it views as a stolen mandate. However, he confidently asserted that in Delta State, the opposition APC holds little ground, as the PDP has maintained control since the return of democracy in 1999.
Looking ahead, Omimi expressed his belief that Governor Oborevwori’s impressive performance ensures the state remains in secure hands with the PDP. He predicted continued success in 2027 and beyond, reaffirming his confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver on his MORE agenda. Omimi urged Deltans to rally behind Oborevwori to sustain the state’s development momentum.
