Drama arose the moment Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obaino, the wife of the outgoing governor of Anambra State confronted Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of late Odumegwu Ojukwu in a fight at the swearing-in of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the new governor of the State.
The fight happened immediately after Soludo took the oath of office and the rationale behind the fight is not yet ascertained as of the time of this report.
However, it was gathered that Obiano’s wife stepped to where Bianca was sitting. And a few seconds later Biance stood up and there was a drama. It took the intervention of security officers to reclaim the situation to normal.
It was also gathered that Obiano reportedly left the venue with his wife after the fight.
Reacting, Soludo in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Joe Anatune, apologized to the people of Anambra State for the occurrence which he interpreted as a ‘breach of protocol’.
According to the statement, he said: “The breach was caused by improper communication which itself arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved in the breach.”
“steps were being taken to resolve the misunderstanding and restore the two parties to their previous relationship” he added in the statement.
