NUJ Applauds Prof. Owamah’s Historic Appointment as DELSU DVC

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated Prof. Hillary Owamah on his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU).

This appointment is a big achievement because Prof. Owamah is the youngest person to ever hold this position in DELSU’s history. He is also the only Professor of Civil Engineering at the university. This shows how intelligent, hardworking, and committed he is to education.

A Great Scholar and Leader

Prof. Owamah is not just a teacher but also a highly respected researcher and administrator. He has written over 60 scientific papers that have been published in well-known academic journals. His research and leadership have made a big impact on education in Delta State and beyond.

Before becoming Deputy Vice-Chancellor, he worked as the Director of Academic Planning at DELSU. During that time, he helped the university achieve full accreditation for all 92 academic programs and also introduced 15 new courses. This means that the university improved a lot under his leadership.

A Friend of the Journalists

Apart from his work in education, Prof. Owamah has been a good friend of the NUJ. He has shared his knowledge with journalists and participated in many discussions that help improve society.

The NUJ praised him for his achievements and expressed confidence that he will do even better in his new role. They also wished him success, wisdom, and strength as he takes on the responsibility of helping to shape the future of DELSU.

A Remarkable Achievement at 42

One of the most inspiring things about Prof. Owamah’s story is that he achieved this great position at just 42 years old! His journey shows that hard work, intelligence, and dedication can lead to great success.

The NUJ, through its Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and Secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu, officially congratulated Prof. Owamah and wished him the best in his new role.
