Political leaders and support groups in Delta State have stepped up early mobilisation for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will secure second terms based on what they described as strong performance and visible development.
The endorsement came at a strategic meeting of the Integrity Group of Nigeria in Asaba, where stakeholders reviewed progress and consolidated support for the “Tinubu and Sheriff 4+4” agenda.
Chairman and Convener of the group, Dr. Oke Idawene, said the meeting marked a crucial phase in preparations for 2027, stressing that the Integrity Group is fully aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
“This is the time to organise and mobilise for victory in 2027. The Integrity Group remains committed to delivering continuity at the national and state levels,” Idawene said.
In a keynote address titled “2027: There Is No Vacancy in Asaba Government House and Aso Rock,” Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Delta State University, Prof. U.N.O. Edewor, said the performance of both administrations has earned them re-election.
He described their governance style as grassroots-driven and development-focused, citing investments in infrastructure, youth empowerment, women inclusion and economic recovery under the Renewed Hope and MORE Agenda.
Other speakers urged intensified mobilisation ahead of the polls. Mr. Felix Ofou called on members to step up APC e-registration to strengthen the party’s electoral base, while former Head of Service, Dr. Reginald Bayoko, stressed voter registration and integrity in public life.
In her goodwill message, Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude said Governor Oborevwori’s performance has significantly weakened opposition ahead of 2027. She also urged members to attract opposition figures into the Renewed Hope for MORE movement.
Speaking as Coordinator of Tinubu Touchbearers in Delta State, Igbrude said President Tinubu is laying a strong foundation for Nigeria’s long-term prosperity and called for patience among citizens.
Support messages from Barrister Fred Majemite and Hon. Ferguson Onwo reaffirmed backing for the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations and praised the Integrity Group’s consistency.
Also speaking, Director-General of Okowa Mandate, Prince Tony Okobi, announced the collapse of the Okowa Mandate structure into the Integrity Group, citing Governor Oborevwori’s development-driven leadership.
The Secretary of the Elders Council of the Integrity Group, Prince Mike Oputa, described the group as one of Nigeria’s most formidable political pressure groups and commended Dr. Idawene’s leadership and commitment.
