The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has revealed that nine suspects were arrested following the attack on Professor Charles Soludo, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The Governor made these revelations on Wednesday, April 21, while speaking at the Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Akwa, the State capital.
The Governor, while speaking, assures that his government is not going to take prisoners any longer than, adding that, “What happened last month is unfortunate. But let me tell you, we have re-strategize and we are coming out like a smoking gun.”
According to Obiano, nine persons have been arrested in connection to the attacked on professor Soludo and effort is on top gear to apprehend others.
Also, while still speaking, Governor Obiano mentioned that a special squad has been created to fight against such criminal activities in the state, adding that, they are already working everywhere.
Recall on March 31, how gunmen stormed a rally organized by Prof. Soludo at Isuofia community, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, and killed three security aides attached to him, and also kidnapped the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne.
Prof. Soludo, front line aspirants for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 6, is a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
