The Executive-Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, said, the new University of Science and Technology, Ozoro that was created from State Polytechnic is now ready for the 2021/2022 academic session.
Okowa, while speaking at the grand finale of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign ahead of Saturday’s House of Assembly by-election for the Isoko North Constituency seat on Wednesday, disclosed this in a statement.
According to the governor, who stated in the rally that he has inspected the facilities at the institution for its readiness to take off academic activities, also commended the development done by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
The governor stated that he was at the school to see what was on the ground and what was needed for the take-off of the university, stating that, a Project Management Committee had been inaugurated to ensure a smooth start-off of the institution.
Okowa said, with the extent of the facilities that they have, he was conceived that the place is ready to go fully as a University of Science and Technology.
According to him, there is no doubt that they have a few things that they will be needing in the future for expansion but insist that, with what they have, they are all fully set for the initial take-off.
