A newly released movie titled ‘A Naija Christmas’ has been dedicated by Netflix, the global streaming giant to late Nollywood actress, Rachel Oniga.
The storyline of the movie follows three sons trying to make their mother’s Christmas wish for daughters-in-law come true.
In the movie, Oniga, who played the role of the mother, criticized her sons’ refusal to marry and requested that they bring home their partners on Christmas Day.
In July, the actress passed away after battling a heart-related disease and was laid to rest in Lagos a month after.
It is understood that Oniga took sick during the proceeds of the movie that was directed by Kunle Afolayan.
The filmmaker announced the movie on Thursday, December 16, 2021, using his Instagram page.
According to Afolayan in his post, he revealed how he suggested to Netflix to dedicate the movie to the actress to which the streaming platform agreed.
He also shares the trailer of the movie showing the heroics of the late film star.
Also, Afolayan in his caption, wrote: “A Naija Christmas is now live on @naijaonnetflix. I am glad that I proposed to Netflix that we dedicate the film to the memory of our dear Late Rachael Oniga and they obliged. Thanks to the Netflix team.
Kunle Remi, Efa Iwara, Linda Osifo, and Ade Laoye are among several movie stars who got featured in the movie.
