The repositioning of the Ndokwa Nation as a prime player in the scheme of things in Delta State in particular, and Nigeria in general, is the focus of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU).
Giving the affirmation during an exclusive chat with selected newsmen recently, the President General of the Apex socio-political and cultural body for all Ndokwans, General Mike Ndubuisi (rtd), stated that the Ndokwa Nation deserved a commensurate share of the dividends of democracy, viewed against the obvious contribution of the region to the economic well being of Nigeria.
General Ndubuisi bemoaned the absence of a higher institution of learning in Ndokwa land, describing it as a slap on the peace-loving people of the oil-rich region.
The NNU President General said efforts are on to reach out to oil-producing and gas-related outfits who thrive in their businesses all over Ndokwa land, to make sure they deliver more on their various Corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandates in line with global best practices.

The NNU President General said that since February 13tg 2021 when he was elected alongside his executive members, he had developed a “Ndokwa First” blueprint which aimed at sensitizing all indigenes of the area on the need to place Ndokwa first above personal considerations so that the age-long cultural and social values of the people will be brought to the fore.
He also disclosed plans to partner with the various local government Chairmen in the area in the area of security, stating that as Chief security officers of the there local governments of Ukwuani, Ndokwa east and west respectively, there was every need to liaise with NNU and the political class, to enable a holistic solution to any security challenge.
Gen Ndubuisi while assuring that under his watch the Ndokwa house permanent site in kwale will be completed, sued for the continued cooperation of all Ndokwa I indigenes both at home and the diaspora, to achieve set goals.
He commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration for the laudable infrastructural and human capital development projects in Ndokwa land, appealing that the area should be given more attention to benefit from more democratic dividends.
