The federal government has assured Nigerians that transparency will guide the selection process for the N-Power Batch C enrolment.
The minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development, Hajia Sadiya Farouq, gave the assurance on Thursday, September 3, at the interactive forum with state focal persons for the social Investment programmes in Abuja.
She stated that her ministry was already in the process of selecting qualified beneficiaries from among the over 5 million candidates who applied for enrolment into the N-Power Batch C scheme.
“I assure all the applicants and Nigerians that the selection process will be transparent,” Farouq stated. She said the focal persons were critical to the implementation and success of the social programmes and urged them to continue to do their best.
Meanwhile, the federal government has said discussions are ongoing to ensure that exited and eligible N-Power beneficiaries are absorbed into government programmes. Leadership reported that the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development in a statement on Thursday, August 27, said exited beneficiaries should exercise more patience and await the result of her efforts.
Hajia Sadiya Farouq said she has directed Focal Persons of National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in the states to submit an updated list of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry.
