On June 21, 2025, history was made in the peaceful town of Ogidi, Kogi State. In a ceremony filled with colour, culture, and deep emotion, Prince Olatunji Olusoji was honoured with the revered chieftaincy title of Basorun Akinjagunla of Ogidi Kingdom.
This prestigious honour was conferred by none other than His Royal Majesty, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, the Ologidi of Ogidi Kingdom, in recognition of Prince Olusoji’s remarkable service to humanity, especially his unwavering dedication to education, health, and community development.
A Title Well Deserved
The title of Basorun Akinjagunla is not given lightly. It represents courage, leadership, and a legacy of selfless service. For the people of Ogidi, the decision to bestow this title on Prince Olusoji was simple—because he had already earned it with over a decade of passionate work across Nigeria.
Most recently, Prince Olusoji donated a massive ₦30 million to kickstart the establishment of the Anglican School of Health Technology in Ogidi. This life-changing institution will empower young people with critical healthcare skills and open doors of opportunity for generations to come.
Meet the Man Behind the Mission
Prince Olatunji Olusoji hails from Ayere in Ijumu LGA of Kogi State. From humble beginnings, he grew up with strong values of integrity, hard work, and kindness. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin, he completed his NYSC in Delta State and began a career marked by excellence and leadership.

The foundation has since transformed countless lives, particularly in underserved communities. His selfless efforts earned him the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom title and several humanitarian awards.
In 2016, Prince Olusoji launched Grosvenor Global Services Limited, providing solutions in oil and gas, marine, logistics, and aviation. A year later, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Special Duties, where he played a key role in peacebuilding and regional development, a position he held until 2023.

Legacy Over Luxury
At the heart of everything Prince Olusoji does lies one principle: put people first. He doesn’t seek fame or fortune, and he doesn’t measure success by luxury. Instead, he wants to be remembered for how many lives he has touched.
“I don’t want to be known by the number of cars I own, or the buildings I’ve built. I want to be remembered for how many people I’ve helped, and how much good I’ve done. I want to be known as someone who prioritised humanity.” – Prince Olatunji Olusoji
Looking Forward: A Man on a Mission
With this new traditional title, Prince Olatunji Olusoji has not reached the end of a journey—but rather the beginning of a bigger one. His goal is to keep building communities, supporting leaders of tomorrow, and creating systems that bring lasting change.
From Ayere to Ogidi, from Delta to across Nigeria, his message is clear: you don’t need to hold political power to change lives—you only need a heart that cares and the courage to act.
In a world where titles are often used for show, Prince Olatunji Olusoji’s chieftaincy title stands as a symbol of real impact. The title Basorun Akinjagunla is not just a name—it’s a living story of generosity, resilience, and hope.
He is a reminder that greatness is not found in positions or possessions, but in people—especially those we choose to uplift along the way.
