The winner of the 2020 Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant, Miss Beauty Etsemyi Tukura has asked for partnership of pen professionals towards her pet project – Education of the Girl Child.
The law graduate disclosed this on Monday in a visit with her team to the NUJ Press Centre at Asaba, after a visit to the ministry of tourism, Asaba, Delta State.
Tukura who hails from Taraba State, appeared elegantly alluring, requesting that the NUJ give her publicity as she embarks on a mission to rescue girls who are involved in prostitution on the streets of Asaba and support those who are willing to go back to school.
The beauty queen said that strategic plans had been put in place by her team to ensure that girls who are forced into early marriages adopt an alternate option of going back to school.
Responding, the newly elected Vice Chairman of NUJ, Delta State Council, Comrade Salvation Ogono who adequately represented the Chairman, assured Miss Tukura that the Union was ever ready to provide her with the platform to express herself and achieve her dream project.
Ogono congratulated her for being the first person to engage the new Executive in a maiden assignment, not even when their maiden Exco Meeting had not held.
He stressed that the Union is in the business of partnering with well meaning individuals and groups who are adding values to society while encouraging development, capacity building and enduring empowerment, especially as they pertain to Girl Child Education in the country.
