Deacon Kennedy Pela, the governorship candidate for Labour Party in Delta State has called on Deltans to vote for his party in the March 11 governorship and House Assembly election in the state.
He said the candidates of his party possess the integrity needed to turn the wealth of the state around for the good of all.
Ken Pela made this known during an interactive session with journalists in Asaba on Tuesday.
He said that Nigeria’s political space has witnessed an unprecedented revolution with the listing of the Labour Party in the ballot for the 2023 general election.
According to him, the mass movement that recognized the entry of his party’s Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi to the stage revealed that Nigerians within and outside the country needed a change compared to the regular business or style of politics by politicians which has never yielded any value to their lives.
Pela said the party had a remarkable achievement in the February 25 election in Delta and was set to repeat the feat in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
Explaining his agenda, he said that Delta workers would enjoy a monthly living wage of N100,000 if voted to power, while arrears of pensions would be a thing of the past.
He also revealed his party’s empowerment plan that would see one hundred persons from each of the 25 local government areas of the state receiving N1m interest-free loan monthly, pointing out that market women would also benefit from the scheme to enable them to grow their trades and become economically strong.
In his developmental plan, he said ten new cities would be developed in the next four years, one in each Federal Constituency in the state, adding that the cities would have tourist attractions that would make them preferred destinations and shoot the state to the status of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
Also speaking is his running mate, Prof. Julie Umukoro, who promised women and youths better deals if given the mandate, insisting that it was high time Deltans took their destiny into their own hands by installing a government of integrity, which the Labour Party would bring to the table.
Earlier on, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, the State Chairman of the party, uses the opportunity to discredit claims that he had been bought over by political opponents to reduce the influence of the OBiDIENT MOVEMENT in Delta during the March 11 election.
