The screening for aspirants under the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State, on Wednesday, April 21, take a new twist when all local government chairmanship aspirants were subjected to a written test and oral interview.
This type of screening exercise happens to be the first in the history of Kaduna State when a political party’s aspirants were subjected to write an examination.
In a report that was seen by goldennationblog.com, it was gathered that over 100 aspirants were seen going through the process at Stonehedge Hotel with a 17-man panel including four professors, several Ph.D. holders, and lawyers.
During the screening exercise that lasted for hours at the state capital, aspirants were asked to write a biographical essay on their lives, schools attended, work experience places lived or visited within Kaduna State, Nigeria, and Abroad.
One of the aspirants when asked about the nature of the exercise explained how they were made to make photocopies of their credentials for the panelists to evaluate while also ask them investigating questions.
He said, “We were told to write biographical essays about our lives, schools attended, work experience, places lived or visited within Kaduna State, Nigeria, and abroad.”
Also, it was gathered that the significance of the written exercise was to weed out those with incredible certificates and inadequacies of endangering the party to the post-election trial.
Meanwhile, within the screening process, it was also gathered that all the incumbent local government chairmen are embarking on reelection except the chairman of the Kachia Local Government Area.
