In a heartwarming show of kindness and community spirit, Lion Eloho Vivian Asakpa of Lions International District 404 A4 Nigeria has donated brand new school uniforms to 50 pupils of Umegbali Primary School, Okpanam.
The generous donation was made as part of the 2024/2025 Lions Year activities. Lion Asakpa, who also serves as the Region 12 Chairperson for the current Lions year, said the initiative was a special way to celebrate her birthday by giving back and putting smiles on the faces of young children.
Speaking at the event, Lion Asakpa explained that giving uniforms was not just about clothing children — it was about giving them confidence, motivation, and the chance to focus on their education. “It’s more than just dressing the body. It’s about nurturing young minds, helping them grow, and inspiring them to become their best,” she said.
Also speaking at the event, District Governor-Elect of District 404 A4 Nigeria, Lion Robinson Omonigho-Okoro, described the donation as part of the Lions Club’s ongoing mission to support people in need and create a better society. He encouraged everyone — regardless of their background, education, or political views — to partner with the Lions Club in doing good for the community.
The Head Teacher of Umegbali Primary School, Mrs. Owumi Edith, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the pupils and school staff. She thanked Lion Asakpa and the Lions Club for their thoughtfulness and support.
The highlight of the event was the joyful moment when the 50 selected pupils received their new uniforms. The children, all smiles and excitement, celebrated the kind gesture with cheer and appreciation.
This donation is just one of the many ways Lions Club International continues to make a difference in local communities — one child at a time.
