Journalist Pays N2.5m Hospital Bill for Colleague

A kind journalist and businessman, Mr. Sola Adebayo, has helped save the life of his colleague, Mr. Dave Okpogadie, by paying a hospital bill of N2.5 million.

Mr. Okpogadie, who works as a correspondent with Nigerian News Direct, needed the money for treatment after being diagnosed with cancer of the gum. Sadly, the Delta State government did not step in to help.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Delta State wrote a letter to thank Mr. Adebayo for his generosity. In the letter, the NUJ leaders said Mr. Adebayo showed “true leadership” by helping even when it was difficult. They praised his compassion and care for others, calling him an inspiration.

The NUJ also prayed for Mr. Adebayo, wishing him good health, happiness, and success in life.

This act of kindness reminds us how important it is to support one another in tough times.
