In a recent case before the Sharia court in Rijiyar Lemu, Dala LGA, Kano State, Amina Nura has been remanded in custody along with four accomplices—Nusaiba Abdullahi, Maryam Nura, Fatima Rabi’u, and Maryam Sa’idu. The charges stem from an alleged attack on Rashida Kamal, a housewife, whom Nura accused of obstructing her relationship with Rashida’s husband, Alhaji Kamal.
According to court proceedings, Nura claims that after Kamal proposed marriage to her but later abandoned the idea, Rashida’s influence was the cause. Nura and her accomplices reportedly visited Rashida’s home armed with weapons and a poisonous substance, leading to an assault.
Defense attorney Barrister Yusuf Kabir requested bail for the defendants, but the presiding Khadi, Umar Usman Danbaba Dukurawa, denied the request and ordered their remand in prison. The case has been adjourned until October 18, 2024, for further proceedings.
