Abuja, Nigeria — In a move aimed at promoting moral rebirth and ethical leadership among young Nigerians, organisers have announced the distribution of one million copies of the Holy Bible across the country in honour of Barrister Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he marks his 40th birthday.
The initiative was unveiled on Sunday during a thanksgiving service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, and coordinated by Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
Speaking at the event, Enwere explained that the project was not merely to celebrate an individual, but to make a spiritual contribution toward restoring the moral foundation of Nigerian society.
“The one million Bible project is a gift to the body of Christ and a seed for moral transformation,” Enwere said. “Through this effort, we hope to restore integrity, compassion, and love for humanity among young Nigerians.”
According to him, the project will support faith-based education and moral enlightenment, helping young people embrace positive values in leadership, family, and community life.
The thanksgiving service was held simultaneously in about 40 churches nationwide, where congregations offered prayers for the Tinubu family and the peace and unity of Nigeria.
At the Abuja service, Rev. Ini Ukpuho, Chaplain of the National Christian Centre, led special prayers and praised the organisers for launching the project at a time when the nation faces rising moral and social challenges.
“We must return to the Word of God if we truly want a better society,” Rev. Ukpuho said. “This initiative is both a celebration and a call for moral renewal.”
In a message read on his behalf, Seyi Tinubu expressed deep gratitude to YOWICAN and other Christian leaders for their prayers and goodwill, emphasizing that faith and discipline remain the foundation for building a responsible and united nation.
“I am humbled by this gesture,” Tinubu stated. “I believe that with faith, moral discipline, and love for one another, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams.”
Organisers said the first batch of the one million Bibles will be distributed in the coming weeks through churches, schools, and youth ministries across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
They added that the project would continue beyond the birthday celebration as part of a long-term campaign to promote moral rebirth, national unity, and spiritual growth among Nigerian youths.
