How flood has cut-off Aboh, Kwale-Ashaka roads – Juan Governor

The Executive Chairman, Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Juan Governor, has lamented over the current situation of flood in the local government.

He disclosed this after receiving a report on the flood situation from a committee set up by the council on flood management in the local government.

The council boss who complained that the flood has cut off Aboh, Kwale-Ashaka Roads from the rest part of the state, called on the Delta State government and other well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of the people of Ndokwa East.

He noted that, as a rescue measure, he had provided boats for the evacuation of those still stranded in the various towns.

The chairman said some of the farmlands and houses submerged by the flood include: Onyia, Aboh, Akarai, Utchi, Abala, Onuabor, and others saying that
Umuti as worse hit.

The leader reported that some residents whose belongings could not be accommodated in the boats refused to come out while others feared that thieves would come for their belongings when they had been evacuated.

lamenting that the flood had become a yearly occurrence, bringing about the destruction of farmlands, Hon. Juan Governor called on well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of the affected persons while thanking the Catholic and Anglican churches for providing bags of cloth and foodstuff to flood victims.

Warning that the flood will almost be that of 2012, the chairman admonished residents in the affected communities to value life
more than property, adding that they should join the provided boats to come out of the flooded areas.
