Hon. Odigie Congratulates Prince Ned Nwoko Over Appeal Court Victory

The Delta State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon Odinigwe Daniel Odigie, expressed satisfaction over the Appeal Court ruling today, November 1, 2023, a tribunal case concerning Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and former Senator Peter Nwoboshi, in the just concluded February 2023 Delta North Senatorial election.

Hon. Odigie in a congratulatory message on his social media page said “It is a thing of joy and celebration today as I congratulate Prince Ned Nwoko on his victory at the Appeal Court in Lagos.”

“I am extremely satisfied with the judgment presided over by Justice, Catherine Ogunsanya who stressed that the petitioner’s claims lack merit in the case.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I heartily congratulate Prince Ned Nwoko, the Senator representing the good people of Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.”

“His victory is a true representation of the people’s mandate and I am particularly happy about this great news because God has smiled upon him once again. This is a great win for our party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP”, the honorable Commissioner for Science and Technology stated.

However, the Appeal Court dismissed Peter Nwaoboshi’s Appeal and declared Prince Ned Munir Nwoko of the People’s Democratic Party as the rightly voted candidate for the Delta North senatorial election held in February 2023.

The court threw out the appeal filed by Peter Nwaoboshi Onyeluka of the All Progressives Congress, pointing out a lack of merit in his claim.

The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State, had already made a judgment in September that Prince Ned Nwoko was the rightful winner of the Delta North 2023 senatorial election, dismissing the petition filed by Peter Nwaoboshi.

In the judgment, Justice Catherine Ogunsanya, who presided over the Tribunal case, brought into the world a united judgment, highlighting the lack of merit in Nwaoboshi’s claims. The court further imposed a fine of N500,000 against Peter
Nwaoboshi.

The Tribunal’s judgment encouraged Nwaoboshi to seek redress in the Appellate court.
