In a chilling display of insecurity, gunmen attacked the motorcycle showroom of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Nigeria’s leading indigenous vehicle producer, in Nnewi, Anambra State, abducting three individuals.
The incident, confirmed by the Anambra State Police Command, occurred at approximately 6:45 pm on Tuesday, at the showroom located along Owerri Road. The attack has sent shockwaves through the region, raising concerns over the safety of business establishments and residents.
Speaking on the matter, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, detailed the efforts underway to address the situation. “The Police Command has launched a joint security forces offensive operation aimed at the possible rescue of the abductees and the arrest of the perpetrators,” Ikenga stated.
He added that investigations were actively ongoing, with officers gathering critical information from the scene of the attack to support the rescue mission. Residents with relevant information have been urged to assist by reaching out to the Command Headquarters in Awka or the nearest police station.
