On Monday night, April 26, gunmen killed two soldiers and a civilian in Ebonyi State and also took out their rifles.
It was gathered that the incident happened at a checkpoint within Timber Shade Junction in Afikpo North Local Government Area at about 8:48 pm on Monday.
According to a source who spoke on anonymity said, the gunmen came with a white Bus when stopped by the soldiers for a check immediately opened fire on two of the military officers who died on the spot, a man and a woman officers while others ran away.
The source also disclosed that the situation threw the busy town into a graveyard as people hurriedly packed their goods and went home.
Meanwhile, the Army Commandant in the state has never said anything regarding the incident, while also, the Divisional Police Officer of Afikpo North Division had yet to notify the spokesperson of the State Police Command at the time of filing this report.
