At 5:30 pm on Wednesday, March 31, unknown gunmen stormed Anambra State, kidnap Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeke Ezenwanne, and killed three policemen attached to a political gathering organized by the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Prof. Charles Soludo at a civic center in his hometown, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the former CBN governor, Prof. Charles Soludo was whisked away unhurt while some participants of the event were injured in the process.
According to a source, Soludo, happens to be a chieftain in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), also a frontline aspirant on November 6 governorship poll in the State.

In another vein, an eyewitness also explained that one of the three slain policemen was a member of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in the state.
The eyewitness maintains, “A couple of minutes back, gunmen disrupted an interactive session between Isuofia youths and a former CBN governor, Prof. Soludo, at the town’s civic center.
He continued, “Three policemen, a former member of SARS, were shot dead at the meeting.”
According to an aide to the former CBN boss, stated that he could not explain the whereabouts of his boss because of confusion that erupted when the gunmen struck.
