Group calls for peace between two warring communities in Delta

The President, Peace Development Security, and Human Rights Association of Niger Delta, Comrade Mike Tiemo, has called for a cease-fire and dialogue between Igbide and Emede communities in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He made the call while briefing newsmen recently in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Tiemo noted that peace was needed for the overall development of the two warring communities.

Meanwhile, Comrade Ohwahwa, Lucky Ovigue, Sunny Anireto, and others who also spoke to newsmen urged leaders of both communities to embrace peace saying that peace is one of the interests of the development of the area.

As part of efforts to bring peace, the group appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and well-meaning Deltans to join hands with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the settlement of the dispute between the communities.

Recall that goldennationblog.com had earlier reported the community clash between Igbide and Emede communities which led to the massive destruction of properties and other valuables.
