Gov. Okowa commissions 2.1-kilometer road – cautions oil companies, host communities against face-off

The Delta State Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa commissioned a 2.1-kilometer Obitobon-Elolo-AjaokurreOgbo-Orubi road in Ogidigben.

The governor also commissioned a 2-3-kilometer road in Benikrukru, both in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

During the inauguration, Okowa cautioned against the face-off between oil companies and host communities, saying that it can lead to further divestment in the oil sector.

He also appealed to the communities to always channel their requests to the state government stating that when a request is not met, they should direct it to the Ministry of Oil and Gas so that the government can intervene on their behalf.
