Funke Akindele, the Nollywood actress has been nominated as the deputy governorship candidate for the People’s Democratic Party in Lagos State.
She is now the running mate to Olajide Adediran, Lagos State PDP governorship candidate.
This was disclosed by the actress in a video post she shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday.
In her post, she stated her intentions and why she agreed to be a running mate to Olajide Adediran.
According to her IG post “, I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
Confirming the development, Gbenga Ogunleye, the media aide to Adediran said the official unveiling of Akindele as the running mate will take place in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
