Fostering Hopes Foundation Turns One, Gets Royal & Desert Warrior Backing

Fostering Hopes Foundation has marked its first anniversary with a strong message of hope for vulnerable families in Delta State.

At a press briefing in Asaba, the Foundation revealed it has empowered 12 families with ₦250,000 grants each, placed 40 children on scholarships, trained 20 widows in soap-making, and organised a 60km Walkathon to raise awareness on child protection.

The Obi of Ubulu-Unor, HRM Obi Henry Afamefune Kikachukwu, PhD, hailed the initiative as a “natural call”, stressing that children belong to the entire community, not just their parents.

“When you help a child succeed, the benefits extend beyond the family to the community and the nation,” he said.

Also lending support, Chief Newton Jibunoh, the Desert Warrior and CEO of FADE Africa—represented by Mr Onuorah Aligbe—described the Foundation’s work as “nothing short of remarkable.”

“Instead of flaunting wealth, you are using resources to empower people. There is nothing better than that,” he noted.

The Foundation announced a three-day anniversary program, including a hospital visit, market outreach, and a Thanksgiving service.

Director of Communication, Comrade Patrick Ochei, praised the Foundation’s Executive Director, Nkechi Ukome, for her vision, adding:

“She has wiped away tears in families and given hope to children who can now compete for the victories of the future.”
