Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been confirmed the winner of Saturday’s presidential election.
The INEC Chairman, Professor Manhood Yakubu, announced tinubu’s victory at the International Collation Center in Abuja on Wednesday morning after declaring the final results.
According to the results, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to win the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar; Labour Party, Peter Obi; and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party in the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar, who polled 6,984,520 votes while Peter Obi obtained 6,101,533, and Rabiu Kwankwaso scored 1,496,687 votes.
The INEC Chairman said the total votes were 24,025940 and rejected votes were 939,278, while the total votes cast were 24,966218.
The INEC Chairman also said Tinubu and APC met the Constitutional prerequisite, adding that the Certificate of Return will be handed out to Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima today by 3 pm.
