Emetulu tells youth to take part in governance as NYCN LGA Excos sworn-in

Honourable Charles Emetulu, member representing Ndokwa West in the Delta State House of Assembly, has called on Nigerian Youths to make themselves marketable for leadership positions.

He made the call during the official swearing-in of newly elected members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) local Government executives across Delta State.

Emetulu stated that the saying of “youths being the leaders of tomorrow” was outdated, calling on the youths to start leading now.

The House of Assembly member expressed delight that the female folks were represented among Delta State NYCN.

“We should continue to encourage our female folks to join us in youth activities so that there will be a balance in the society,” he added.

Hon. Emetulu, however, charged the newly elected officials to see their emergence as a clarion call to steer the course to the group to greater heights.

“Your positions are not called to supremacy. You must carry everybody along, both the good and the bad,” he said.

While describing their positions as a prelude to future leadership opportunities, he congratulated both elected officials and those that lost during the election.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, who was represented by Mr. Dioru Sheho, admonished the executives to let the people’s interest come before theirs.

He urged them to always work together to advance their collective objectives and reminded them that his doors were always open for consultation, counseling, and other services.

The Chairman of Delta State NYCN, Comrade Kenneth Okorie, congratulated the various executives that were sworn in.

“I must remind you all that you may not be the best, it is by privilege. I charge you to discharge your duties with fairness and love,” Okorie stated.

Emetulu charged them to try at all times to perform within the confines of the constitution in the discharge of their duties.
