Asaba, Delta State – The Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DYTM), ably led by its President, Comrade Isioma Melekwe Odozi, and Secretary General, Adm. Tola Ajemisogbe PhD, alongside members of the State and Senatorial District Executive, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to its highly esteemed Grand Patron, Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Agunwanyi), at her residence in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The visit served as an official engagement to formally present the leadership and various organs of the Movement to the Grand Patron while also outlining the organisation’s structure, vision, and strategic direction. The delegation used the opportunity to present DYTM’s major initiatives centred on youth development, community impact, social transformation, and responsible political participation across Delta State. Discussions also focused on the forthcoming inauguration of the DYTM Executive Council, as members sought guidance, endorsement, and strategic direction from the Grand Patron.
Presenting the agenda of the meeting on behalf of the President, the Secretary General of DYTM, Adm. Tola Ajemisogbe PhD, described the Movement as a mission-driven organisation committed to empowering young people socially, politically, and economically. He emphasised that DYTM aims to groom responsible leaders, promote civic awareness, and build a generation of youths prepared to contribute meaningfully to governance and development across the state.

He further explained that DYTM operates through a structured three-tier system comprising the Inner Caucus for strategic guidance, the National Working Committee led by the President and executive leadership, and the senatorial structures designed to expand to local government and grassroots levels. According to him, the Movement has already established inclusive platforms across the 26 local government areas, including structures for non-indigenes resident in Delta State, to ensure broad representation and participation.
Adm. Ajemisogbe also outlined three major projects that form the core of DYTM’s social impact agenda. These include programmes to support persons with physical challenges through empowerment and advocacy; initiatives aimed at protecting and uplifting women and the girl child through mentorship, education, and community outreach; and a comprehensive campaign to combat youth drug abuse through media awareness, street engagement, and educational programmes across communities.
He added that DYTM plans to inaugurate its executive structure to strengthen organisational discipline and accountability, proposing that the inauguration be aligned with an upcoming major political gathering in March to formally showcase the Movement’s structure and readiness to contribute to the political and social development of Delta State. He concluded by seeking the Grand Patron’s blessings, guidance, and endorsement for the Movement’s vision and programmes.
In her warm response, the Grand Patron, Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Agunwanyi), warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the leadership for the remarkable progress made since their last engagement. She expressed satisfaction with the improved organisation and structure of the Movement, noting that the leadership had demonstrated commitment by implementing previous advice.

Chief Okwuofu encouraged members to embrace leadership with courage and responsibility while remaining constructive in their words and actions. She urged the Movement to strengthen its grassroots presence by engaging local communities, promoting voter education, and encouraging active civic participation starting from polling units and neighbourhood structures.
She also advised the organisation to intensify its social advocacy efforts, particularly in addressing drug abuse and other social challenges affecting young people. According to her, DYTM should utilise media campaigns, educational programmes, and community jingles in both English and local languages to reach a wider audience and promote responsible behaviour among youths.
The Grand Patron further emphasised the importance of discipline, unity, and positive conduct among members, noting that their actions and reputation would define the credibility and growth of the Movement. She encouraged them to work as a team, communicate responsibly, and collaborate with stakeholders to advance youth development and community transformation across the state.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, DYTM President, Comrade Isioma Melekwe Odozi, expressed deep appreciation to the Grand Patron for his warm reception, guidance, and unwavering support. He reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to promoting transformative youth initiatives, strengthening grassroots engagement, and contributing positively to the growth and development of Delta State.
The visit ended on a note of renewed commitment, with both leadership and members pledging to continue building a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking movement dedicated to empowering young people and driving sustainable social and political transformation.
The statement was signed by Efecha Collins Gold, Public Relations Officer, DYTM.
