The Delta State Government applauded the good people of Delta and its residents for their support and love shown to the Governor-Elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwore, the candidate of the People Democratic Party over on Saturday’s poll.
Sheriff Oborevwore won Saturday’s gubernatorial election, defeating his strongest opponents, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, and Ken Pela, the candidate of the Labour Party.
Briefing newsmen in Asaba, the state capital on Tuesday, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said that the Okowa-led administration, Governor-elect, and indeed the PDP party faithful are entirely grateful for the love and support they sacrifice during the gubernatorial election in the state.
According to him, Oborevwore’s victory now confirmed that indeed Delta is PDP and it is in their DNA.
Aniagwu said, “We are happy as an administration that we won fair and square in all the senatorial District, we got the overwhelming support from Deltans and those who live with us.”
“This victory had spurred the PDP and it does not only sustain the development trajectory that characterized the Okowa-led administration but embarked on a process to bring more just like the ‘MORE Agenda’ of Sheriff Oborevwore.”
He also called on the opposition to join hands to build a more developed and peaceful State for its citizens and its residents.
“For our opponent, we congratulate them for putting up a very strong contest and we urged them to join hands with Sheriff Oborevwore and Monday Onyeme together with the leaders of the PDP to indeed pursue an agenda that will be of more development than it is now,” the information commissioner said.
