The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 of its personnel as part of ongoing internal reforms within the agency. The announcement was made in an official statement released on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
According to the DSS, the dismissals were carried out over a period of time as the Service continues efforts to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and accountability within its ranks.
The agency also warned the public to be cautious of some of the dismissed individuals who are still falsely presenting themselves as DSS officers.
“The Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” the statement said.
The DSS emphasized that members of the public must avoid any form of official or private dealings with the dismissed individuals, as they no longer have any affiliation with the Service.
For transparency, the agency published the full list of the affected personnel on its official website: dss.gov.ng/media/more/4.
The DSS also drew attention to previous public disclaimers regarding two individuals identified as Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who have been falsely operating under the identity of DSS operatives.
To report suspicious activity, seek clarification, or make official inquiries, the public is encouraged to contact the DSS directly through:
- Phone: 09088373515
- Email: dsspr@dss.gov.ng
The agency reiterated its commitment to maintaining national security and ensuring that only credible and professional officers serve in its ranks.
